The fastest dogs in the world

There are many dog breeds around the world with different looks, temperaments, characteristics, traits, and characteristics that differentiate each breed from one another. If the quality we want to discover is speed, then there is no doubt that we should refer to the different breeds of greyhounds.
The fact that greyhounds are dolichocephalic (narrow and long heads), rather than being like other dog breeds, which are dolichocephalic (short and broadheads), was the main reason why breeds are oriented towards speed.

This craniofacial feature gives them stereoscopic vision (high-resolution vision) that other dog breeds do not have.

This unusual degree of vision is also found in wolves. We can conclude that if you have to run a lot after prey, it will be necessary to see very well where to take the next steps to quickly reach your goal.

English greyhound

The English greyhound is the world's fastest running dog. The English greyhound comes from the Spanish greyhound, and it has evolved through crosses into an impressive and athletic animal. It can reach 63 km/h.

English greyhounds (like all other pig breeds) were originally used for hunting by royalty. Over time, these animals were incorporated into the world of obnoxious racing greyhounds, which move huge sums of money.

Fortunately, it is more and more common to see sensitive people adopting greyhounds as pets. Greyhounds are loyal, affectionate, gentle, and obedient companions. They are undoubtedly wonderful pets.

Spanish Greyhound

The Spanish Greyhound is a pure breed native to the Iberian Peninsula. It is an ancient breed that experts say comes from the hunting dogs of the pharaonic courts in ancient Egypt.

It is an exceptionally athletic dog, capable of running at a speed of 60 km/h. It is probably the most widespread dog throughout the Spanish geography, being used in various hunting and sporting methods. Unfortunately, in rural areas of Spain, these poor dogs are unbearably abused.

Fortunately, some associations protect animal rights, and it is increasingly common to see families adopting dogs that have been exploited in their homes.

Greyhounds, ancestors of greyhound

The Saluki is a dog with a great history. This breed was the dogs that the Egyptian pharaohs used in their hunting days. It is known that since 2000 BC there are inscriptions in the pharaonic tombs that speak of this ancient dynasty of the Seleucid.

Experts say that the greyhound is descended from the wolves of the Ara desert. Today, nomads use the greyhound as a deer-hunting dog and also as a pet they value very much. It is the ancestor of the Spanish greyhound.

Afghan Hound

The Afghan Hound is a dog that can run faster between rocks, crevices, and obstacles in the rugged Afghan mountains. Aside from his exceptional eyesight which allows him a clear view of his surroundings, the Afghan Hound has one physical feature that sets it apart from other dogs: its knees.
The Afghan Hound's kneecap structure allows the lower part of its powerful legs to rotate asymmetrically and individually.

In this way, the Afghan greyhound puts each of its four legs in the best position on the ground during the race. For this reason, this powerful dog can without hesitation chase the elusive mountain goats in the majestic Afghan mountain ranges. He is a large hunting dog, whose reign is highly prized in the extreme climate and terrain of Afghanistan.

In other parts of the world, the Afghan hound is considered a "noble" dog, while its exceptional beauty and outstanding manners hide the unrelenting hunter.
